How We Work

Tending the Whole Self

Healing rarely happens only in the mind. We weave together evidence-based, somatic, and nature-rooted practices — because your experience lives in the body, the nervous system, and the deep relational self, not just in language.

Beyond the Talking Cure

Traditional therapy often asks the mind to do all the work. But grief, trauma, and the identity-dissolving weight of new motherhood do not live only in thought. They live in the body, in the breath, in the way you hold yourself at 3am. Healing asks us to go further.

Each modality we draw from is chosen for its capacity to meet you where your nervous system actually lives — not just where your words can reach.

Our Modalities

Ways We Work Together

Each approach is grounded in research and held within years of clinical presence with those navigating the deepest seasons of life. Together, they create something greater than any single method could offer.

EMDR for Birth Trauma

EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) does not require you to retell your story in painful detail. Instead, bilateral stimulation helps your nervous system do what it has been trying to do all along: move through what became stuck. This work is offered with particular care for those carrying the weight of a frightening or traumatic birth.

2

Parts Work

Informed by Internal Family Systems, Parts Work invites curiosity about the different voices living inside you: the one who protects, the one who criticizes, the one who is still waiting to be held. Rather than battling these parts, we learn to meet them with compassion. This is especially meaningful for anyone navigating the profound identity shifts of motherhood and loss.

3

Somatic & Body-Based Practices

Your body knows things your mind hasn't yet found words for. Somatic approaches attune to the language of sensation — the held breath, the tight chest, the weight that settles in the bones. By gently attending to what the body is carrying, we help your nervous system find its way back to safety, one small moment at a time.

4

Nature-Based & Ecotherapy

We believe the living world is one of our oldest and most generous healing allies. Walk and talk sessions, outdoor presence, and ecotherapy practices draw on what our bodies already know: that green spaces, moving water, and open sky have a way of loosening what words alone cannot reach.

5

Attachment & Relational Depth

Drawing from attachment theory and polyvagal science, this work helps you understand the relational patterns that live beneath the surface, in how you reach for others and how you pull away. It is not about being a perfect parent or partner. It is about learning to repair, to reconnect, and to trust the bond you are slowly building.

6

Nervous System Regulation

Chronic stress, trauma, and the relentless demands of early parenting can leave your system in a state of perpetual alert. We offer embodied, practical tools for recognizing when you've moved outside your window of tolerance — and for gently, patiently, finding your way back.

A Thread Through All Our Work

Grief & Transformation

Grief runs through nearly everything we hold here, and it takes more shapes than most people expect. The loss of a pregnancy. The birth that did not go the way you had imagined. The self you knew before motherhood. The child who needs more than anyone prepared you for. The body you are still learning to inhabit.

These are real losses. And they deserve real mourning — not to be minimized, reframed too quickly, or rushed toward silver linings.

At the same time, grief and transformation are inseparable. What breaks us open is often what makes us more wholly ourselves. This work does not ask you to choose between the sorrow and the becoming. It asks you to be held in both, until, in your own time, the ground beneath you feels solid again.

Witnessed, Not Managed

We do not rush toward resolution. Grief needs to be seen before it can move. This is a space where your loss — whatever form it takes — is met with full presence, not a treatment plan.

Carried in the Body

Grief does not live only in the mind. It lives in the chest, the arms, the way the body still flinches or goes numb. Somatic and nervous-system-aware approaches help the grief that words alone cannot reach.

Held Across Time

Some losses resurface at unexpected moments — a due date, a milestone, a quiet afternoon. We offer continuity of care that honors grief as a long, nonlinear passage, not something to be resolved in a single season.

The Thread Toward Becoming

Transformation is not the destination we race toward. It is what emerges, slowly and on its own terms, when grief is truly held. We trust the process — and we trust you.
